Report today in Billings Gazette of park employee on a bike ride killed by bear. Presumed brown bear now being sought for confirmation

This is terrible.

Sadly ironic that something like this happens to someone who was probably more bear savvy than most, while hundreds of people do the most asinine things to put themselves in harms way, and walk away without ever really knowing how much danger they were in.

He was very bear savvy and a wonderful part of my girlfriends family. Avid outdoorsman and a great public figure. It can happen to anyone, prepared or not.
