i have a cow elk and deer tags for the Bannock range in Idaho , does any one have experience hunting that range specifically unit #74, i am not looking to steal any ones spot, i just would like to know if my odds are any good for that area

Here are your odds - just a quick google search and harvest stats on the Idaho fish and game website:

ELK success rates:

Any Weapon7423.1
Archery7417.2
Muzzleloader7433.9
All Weapons Combined7428.1

DEER success rates:

Any Weapon7425.5
Archery746.4
Muzzleloader740
All Weapons Combined7424.5

There are a few elk in unit 74, but lots of private land as well. Deer are everywhere, so just get somewhere high and spend some time glassing. Don’t overlook all of the junipers that are lower on the mountains. Growing up there, most of the animals I got were in the junipers near private land. Good luck and make sure to use OnX to keep you from accidentally trespassing.

yes thats why i picked that area %s look good

It’s not a large unit, and most of the public land can be accessed by the same handful of canyon roads. Be careful when hunting near Smith Canyon, because it has a large area that is no shooting at all. Most of the hunting traffic in the unit is in Cottonwood Canyon. It had too many people for my enjoyment so I always avoided that one.
