Forgot my lunch at the house this morning so bombed home to grab it and sit down outside to snarf it down. I picked up a shed last weekend and threw it in the planter box and was sitting there looking at it and didn't look right. Closer inspection showed that the damn squirrels have been gnawing the H out of it. Luckily not one that was real special.
I remember growing up when dad showed us porcupines gnawing on sheds and old bones, but I didn't think squirrels would. Anybody else?

Most western montana sheds are chewed on within a few days of hitting the ground when they are in the timber. Lots of squirrel chews on them:)

Just my opinion, but I think the squirrels use it as an aphrodisiac. My Moms little concrete yard deer ornament has lost two set of antlers to the little cusses.

Very few sheds make it through a whole year because of squirrels, rabbits, and other rodents chewing them up. I've heard that they do it for the calcium...
