Nut's last post reminded me of something.
If any of you folks have ever considered moving up here but were unsure of the job situation, I have news.
Our Governor just announced this week that the state and the necessary developers are moving foward on our natural gas pipeline.
Much ado has been made about drilling for oil in ANWR but the gas pipeline has received little attention. Well its a done deal and were in for a 5-6 year mini boom.
If you are or ever wanted to be a welder, machinist, diesel mechanic, engineer, electrician, pipe fitter, heavy equipment operator etc. now's your chance.
If you want more details go to www.state.ak.us or www.adn.com
cheers
Erik
ps the gas pipline will parallel the current oil pipline to bring the as yet untapped natural gas reserves down from the north slope.
