Fun Trip to the Black Hills

Took a couple day trip up to the Black Hills this weekend. Sorry to inform you all but this gorgeous place has no fish left. My two boys drained all the lakes.

We saw probably the most animals we have ever seen in Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, and the rest of the Black Hills NF. Most buffalo I've ever seen by far.

I live in the Northwest corner of South Dakota and every couple years I just have to take the time and go visit the local attractions. I'm glad you had a good vacation thanks for the pictures.

Took my girls through that country a few years ago. I doubt I would ever get tired looking at that scenery.

Glad you enjoyed our Black Hills, Spring is a great time, cool days, and the tourist season hasn't completely cranked up yet. I do however know that the Custer State Park buffalo herd was down at least one animal.

jzeck2: That is awesome. I have always wanted to do that but a little out of my price range. I didn't even know you could hunt them there. Pretty amazing place and some huge heards. Congrats!

Laelkhunter: They caught several rainbows but for the most part just enjoyed playing and throwing.

Was that picture of your boys taken at Sylvan lake? I love the "Hills"

We try to get out there once a year. I used to be a district manager for the USFS and loved my time I spent living in Spearfish and Deadwood

Yeah the one with them both by the lake and the rocks in the background was Sylvan. Beautiful lake and loads of trout but more people than anything. Definitely an fantastic place all the way around.

Great pics!! Can't wait to get up there.. mule deer & bison points are building up but a vacation will do too. Beautiful country.
