That is, IMO, one of the best field pics of a great buck. Congrats on both!

Not a lot of help but a little. The first picture is a SW Mt buck one of the first I was in on: 14 4/8 G4.

The second buck, my best, is a eastern Idaho buck with 29 3/8 non-typical inches.

Less that 10 inches to go for 250 typical.

Will have an updated inside spread measurement from my son's 2016 MT buck. Official measurer is stopping by this weekend to measure antelope, and I suspect he'll get the same as me 30-1/2" inside.

Just think how much bigger your bucks would be if the Minnesota guys didn't shoot all the 2 year old 3x3s.

I get H1 measurements of 6 2/8 and 6 0/8 on my NV buck from this year, but not knowing crap about official scoring the odds are an official measurer would get half of that.

H1 is pretty straight forward on your buck. Smallest place between the burr and the browtine using a 1/4 inch steel tape. I have seen people use a plastic sewing tape. That will inflate the measurement a good amount. After going back and looking at your NV buck I can see 6 inch + H1's

Not to hijack my own thread but have to disagree. Montana has difficulty growing big deer not because we shoot a lot of 2 year old 3x3's. but because we shoot nearly all the nice bucks. Clearly a topic for a different thread.

All I've ever harvested is average freezer filler 4x4s or 3x3s and I've hunted a fair amount out there. I always feel like it's your Montana residents deer and I'm on your ground, which I am.

Great deer everyone and I'm enjoying watching it grow.

I have an old buck from the mid eighties that I think dried out to just under 35". I'll try to find a pic, he doesn't exist if I can't find a photo so don't quote me just yet.

Here is a pic of the deer from the eighties. The doorway is 48" and the board the elk antlers are on is 36". The deer has an inside spread of 34 4/8". Chased him for 4 years while he regressed to a 36" wide 5 x 7 with 5" eye guards.
