Agreement voided in grazing dispute
Associated Press
CHEYENNE - The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has voided a settlement agreement with a Thermopolis-area rancher after he was cited for willful trespass of cattle.
Conservationists applauded the move, the man's attorney criticized it and filed a lawsuit, and BLM officials said they still hope to work with him in the future.
Harold Frank Robbins Jr. and the BLM have been involved in years of legal wrangling over alleged grazing violations on federal land.
His attorney, Karen Budd-Falen of Cheyenne, filed a complaint in U.S. District Court Friday seeking a preliminary or permanent injunction preventing the BLM from voiding the settlement agreement.
