Its hunting season in WV and this doe came out for a visit

When I was in college (1977-1981) in southeast Pennsylvania we would travel to Seneca Rocks in the spring for some rock climbing. I can still remember the view from the top and rapeling off of those rocks.

Dave, looks like you guys are working on the browns, and did I see a rainbow or two in there?

W could see 3 climbers on the face that day. I think I would stick with the horse ride to the top LOL

Browns were the main hold overs, I think they are a harder fish and can handle the warmer weather.
This trip almost turned into a disaster but by the grace of God. Phil had his walking stick slip between his legs and trip him up causing him to drop down and from there the water sucked him into the 20' hole he was maneuvering around. As you can guess it was a struggle. Seems the Lord had a hook into him and he made it out but very stressed when he came to pick up me and Mike back up the river. We were supposed to meet back up at 12 noon but it was 1:30 when he showed. If you have ever been in that situation you know the feeling is desperation. I've been there and so has Mike so all the old almost story's were told on the drive home.

I bet that was a life changing moment for your friend. I've had a couple run ins with bears, that got or could have been real bad.

Did you guys stay at Smoke Hole, or up at Cabins. ? WE have been up in that area a good bit. My wife isn't able to do a lot of walking now. She wants to go up to the Cabins and stay and then ride horses to the top of Seneca. I've been to the top one time. It's great up there.

Another place, close to that area, with some great hiking and hunting is Dolly Sods Wilderness Area.

We stayed at Yocums cabins, I would not stay there again. I am sure there are nicer cabins in the area. I would like to take the ride up one of these trips. The 3 of us may get back there one more time before winter sets in.
