We celebrated the solstice with a chukar hunt. I was going to go Wednesday, but ended up sick and in bed for 24 hours. I probably rushed things, as I hit the wall badly about halfway through the hunt.

Bird numbers are good. I found a pretty even mix today, and most all coveys were decent sized or better.

LOL, his fun meter (and mine for that matter) was pretty well pegged. He was able to wake up for his dog treat at Dutch Brothers.

The CFO did a site audit today, evaluating the merits of the dog she bought, and training put into said dog. She also photographed. The birds were like January roosters, flying back and forth across canyons with impunity. Lots of flushes at or beyond gun range. Fortunately, Finn and I are both retained for another year.

First birds of 2019

Went to a new spot today. Cold and windy in the morning. Birds are very wild. Picture trying to jump shoot mallards when they can see you coming. We fooled some, others not. Great retrieves today.
