Got my WY muley from last October finished up this afternoon. First mule deer mount for me. Covered the back with black felt after the pics and he's on the wall.
Nice job. He was a sleek one! I went with a different method of covering the back. The photo is upside down with rack on the floor while I was working on attaching the hanging plaque.
I really didn't care for the angle of the mount when hung on wall with hanger screwed to back of form. Looked droopy. So I added a fifteen degree spacer and pipe fitting nipple with threaded bases attached to a pine mounting plaque cut the same dimensions as moose/elk cap mount plaque. I think I'll pull it down tomorrow and try the shorter nipple. Get it a little closer to the wall. Mine was a Montana muley shot late November and quite wooly. He had some cowlick issues too. I gave him the "startled" look with eyes open wide. That's what he looked like the moment before a bullet went through his heart.
