Spent this last Monday playing in the high country with some fresh snow. Temperature went from -11 to 23 degree's fahrenheit and back to -6 during the day.

Very nice scenery, but ya'll certainly look cold......

I don't do negative temps very well myself.

Is that a cell phone in the last picture in the bare hand, next to the warming fire?

That is a point and shoot camera my brother is holding and believe me that fire was needed. I learned a very important lesson that morning about carrying more than one lighter. When my brother and I arrived at the spot I prepared the fire and when I pulled my lighter out of my jacket it was full of snow. It was close to an hour before my son and the other guy showed up with another lighter.
To give you some perspective of how mobile we are in this country even with the cold and snow we were on the back side of the point in the last picture at sun up and across the valley on another ridge at 3:00pm that afternoon. We were still 3 hours from the truck.
We quite often split into two groups and take different trails around to were we plan to meet. If the other group doesn't show up in a reasonable time frame we can head out on the trail they should be on.

Very good pictures and Iove the snow. I carry both a fire starter and a lighter olefish

You are lucky you left that point on the other side of the Valley. It looks like a huge red arrow is about to smash onto the point....

When do you put the Wranglers away and break out the wool pants?
