Headed to the field last night to chase some ferrets and ran into these guys on the way there.

Glassed this basin, but only saw one coyote.

Finally got to watch the sun go down.

I found a couple of black-footed ferrets, but they were camera shy. They were male and female and within a couple hundred yards of each other. Tis the season, so I left them to be alone.

As the sun came up, I headed for sage grouse country.

It is a little early in the breeding season, but some of the fellas were showing off anyway.

On the way home I ran into some more critters.

I think all of the bird pics were taken at 30X to 36X, which is obviously too much in these pics. I didn't have much choice since I was shooting from the vehicle, but I hope to get out in the blind on my free time to get some better quality shots.

Beautifull. The more I see of the country out there the more I think about moving.

Very nice, thanks for sharing.

This might be a stupid question but do all antelope have fully developed horns this early in the year? I was surprised to see that nice looking buck with a nice set of horns. I just assumed they wouldn't reach full growth until late in the summer as with deer and elk antlers.

Pronghorn shed their sheaths every year, but the new growth is what forces last years growth off, so there is always a covering. The 'lope above still has some growing to do. I think they are maxed out by late July or early August if I remember correctly.
