Man Convicted of Running Over Officer With ATV
Wednesday April 28, 2004 7:47am

Washington (AP) - A D.C. man has been convicted of running over a police officer with an all-terrain vehicle.

Prosecutors say 24-year-old Kenneth Davis ran over a motorcycle officer last July when the officer tried to stop the ATV in Northeast Washington. The officer suffered a broken jaw and other injuries.

Davis faces up to 40-years in prison when he's sentenced later this year.

What the hell does that have to do with anything?

Besides wasted bandwidth.

Man convicted of killing two in gang-related shooting

Associated Press

MILWAUKEE - A man faces sentencing June 30 after being convicted of killing two fellow gang members at a tavern in December.

Bernardo Hernandez, 27, shot the two because they had talked with investigators who built a 1998 federal racketeering case against Hernandez and 31 other Latin Kings members, prosecutor Mark Williams said in closing arguments in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.

In that case, Hernandez went to prison in a plea deal, but once he got out he went after the "snitches" with a gun, Williams said.

"This is something you see out of 'The Sopranos' or maybe out of some bad movie," Williams told the jury.

Hernandez testified he killed the men in self-defense, after they accused him of being an informant and after one of them accidentally dropped a gun.

The jury found him guilty on two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, each carrying a mandatory life prison sentence. The only thing for the judge to decide is when, if ever, he will be first eligible for parole.
