Fahrenheit 9/11 - A sequel

I saw Mike Moore on the Tonight Show last nite with Leno. He actually came across as a nice guy with a good sense of humor. He sang "America the Beautiful" and did a pretty good job of it. I raised my opinion of him after seeing the interview.

But that was before he was running against Bush! Now it is a completely different tune. Then he was in complete agreement with Bush that a regime change was needed in Iraq and that Saddam had used WMD and could use them again, and that the threat to Israel, Kuwait and to our national security warranted action against Saddam.

Watch it yourself, rather than pick apart what I wrote above.

CH,
I think that was actually before Howard Dean made a lot of political gains by being anti war so JFK had change positions.

Ithaca,
I watched Leno with MM also. One thing that bothered me is that he stated he did the same thing to Clinton as he did to Bush. I am curious which movie that was.

Did you see his interview with O'Reilly? He didn't come off as such a nice guy in that. He is a talented guy but he is not a genius like the dems have annointed him.

Nemont

Nemont, I noticed the Clinton remark also. I don't know what the movie was. And I noticed he said he'd do a "documentary" on Kerry, too, if he gets elected. I didn't see the O'Reilly interview and I don't think Moore is a genius. I think he just stumbled into a way to make some money and we'll see other filmmakers pop up with "Documentary" films on other politicians.

I should probably make a "documentary" on Gov. Arnold in CA. I could edit that to be really funny! Imagine showing him making speeches and and editing in film clips from his movies! :D

Ithaca,
Arnold would be a good one. I think I could even edit a documentary about Arnold and make it funny.

MM is making more then some money he is making a killing. Pretty good for a guy who thinks capitalism is an evil system.

Nemont

I didn't see him on Leno, but did watch the interview with O'Reilly. I thought Moore came across pretty well. Both he and O'Reilly were artful in their questions and answers. I thought O'Reilly's response to Moore's question of "Would you send your child to Iraq" was right on, as he answered "I can not speak for my child" I thought the back and forth of each person's interpretation of what a "lie" also went to O'Reilly. All in all, I have a better opinion of Moore and will now probably see his film if it comes on HBO.

On a side note, in looking at the ratings of the news networks' coverage of the DNC shows how polarized the country is and reveals something kind of tragic. In its coverage of the DNC, I thought MSNBC was by far the most balanced. You have Chris Matthews falling all over the dems, while a floor reporter is calling BS on something said by a delegate. Their coverage of the Iraq war was applauded by the Wall Street Journal as showing the least amount of bias. Yet they are a distant third in the ratings. That is too bad. That tells me that most people don't want to hear both sides of things, which I am sure drives the news channels coverage and analysis. I think now more than ever it is appropriate to be open-minded and take a pragmatic approach to this election. There are two sides to almost every story right now, and I personally think most people have already made up their minds.

Oh, and nice on-air f-bomb CNN.
