Dumb Question

Strictly speaking as a rifle hunter for antelope, I pay more attention to the sun location than the wind. As the others have mentioned, watch for the crosswinds for your shot.
 
Yes it matters, second to vision in my opinion. My first antelope hunt I was told not to pay attention to scent & that was way wrong, cost me a few good bucks on blown stalks. I don't think they smell ad well as a mature white tail or bull elk though.
