Anyone else out? Thunderstorms delayed this morning here in SW Oklahoma but things have cleared off and the action is heating up. Been at it a hour and have 3 we won't discuss how many it should be.

Va season comes in Saturday and Ill be out. its going to be one coolest opener I remember with highs only being 79.

haven't dropped the hammer on a dove in ages...back in the day Federal used to have promo cases for like $29 and I'd burn 2 or 3 a year missing shots

Kentucky changed the laws for first season dove to that you can't hung public land til 11am from Sept 1 - Oct 26 and its raining so I probably wouldn't have been out anyways

Speculation... but likely so the birds have the morning to feed without getting hammered. The public dove fields get hammered pretty hard and after the first few days are usually shot up or birds move out.

Knocked down 35 or so mourning doves and one white wing with a couple friends this morning. Several of the birds were covered in a heavy layer of fat.
After 2 months of scorching heat in Southern Arizona we couldn't have asked for better weather this morning.
