Disrespecting Glacier

I routinely pick up trash people have left behind in the woods. Something my dad taught me. Grandma (his mom) always said "respect her and she will reward you" in reference to the outdoors. Her great grandmother was Cherokee. I suspect that is were my family's close connection to the wilds all started. Nothing ticks me off worse than seeing trash in the woods.
We’ve as a society have certainly lost the connection and respect for the land that the natives had. Looks like a little Cherokee heritage goes along way in the right direction for you though.

We just scored a site on Georgetown lake for camping the next two nights.
My wife immediately cleaned up a garbage bags worth. Then discovered a pile of human feces with paper between the camper and the access road...a total of 6 ft of real estate. Dirty diaper,as well.
I picked up a full pack of cigarette butts around the fire pit.
F-ing pigs.

Turning a blind eye to the lack of respect in our cities carries over to our Parks and public lands as well.

Exactly. They just got done destroying their state capitol on the weekdays in the name of fun/justice, then they go on a weekend vacation and trash that place to in the name of fun...these are the same people...

My goal is to always leave with more trash than I bring in. I carry a grocery bag to throw trash in when I'm scouting/ hunting so that way it doesn't rattle around my pack ha. It is upsetting seeing trash pile up from "non consumptive" users who do no harm. I try to do my part so hopefully the optics of a hunter like myself hauling out garbage will make hunters look good in a non hunters eye. Or at least hopefully it makes them think twice about throwing there wrapper on the ground.
