Danskin Mtns. Trail Closure

We received the following notice from Ranger Tripp of the Mountain Home Ranger District In the Boise National Forest. Please check with the District Office prior to leaving for the trail!!

Effective immediately the Forest Service has imposed an emergency trail closure prohibiting all motorized use of designated trails within the Danskin Mountains OHV Area to protect trails from damage and avoid further resource impacts from motorized use during the snowmelt conditions. This closure will remain in effect until further notice as determined necessary by the Forest Service. It is anticipated this closure may remain in effect until about April 1.

Questions regarding the emergency trail closure should be directed to the Mountain Home Ranger District at 587-7961. Please share this notice with all interested parties. Signage for the closure will be in place by Friday, March 4.

That is funny that the Fat-Assed ATV riders aren't bright enough to stay off of muddy trails on their own, but need an Emergency Order by the Forest Service to alert them to the damage they do.

More proof that helmets should be mandatory for the Fat-Assed ATV crowd.

I see them do emergency road closers every year to keep the soft grounds from becoming to damaged.
So whats your point, I also see emergency river closers because of low water levels... Damned fat ass fishermen....
but need an Emergency Order by the Forest Service to alert them to the damage they do.

Wonder why the highway department needs to put up road restriction signs in the spring???? Maybe JOSE'CUEERVO has the answer to that as well.

reply..

hey Josie, if you lived in this area you would know that they are starting to build a sub division or single homes out there..

Back in Western Washington, new housing develepmonts were a magnet for kids and dirt rippers... Kinda went hand in hand before it was all turned into blacktop and buildings, was this some thing different, or was it some place an endagered snail happened to live?
