buckhorn exchange, pretty famous denver spot. certainly appreciated by far more than hunters. the dry aged buffalo ribeye is pretty awesome.

Any bar on the Lake Winnebago shoreline during Sturgeon spearing transforms into something that Im not sure you’d see really anywhere else.

It makes our gun deer season look like Sunday school in terms of magnitude of party.

Hank's Market in Twisp has a drool worthy collection of taxidermy, most of the mule deer are from Alberta.

Also, I'll throw in Lynn's Dakotmart in Pierre, SD. Nice grocery store upstairs, good sporting goods downstairs. Good, not great, but as good as you can get without driving ~3 hours.

My dad and uncle stayed at The Victory Hotel in Maybell, CO last fall. They didn't get the weather they needed to push the deer down, but the hotel recieved high praises from them.

Wish I would've known about this yesterday! Was in Denver for work and looked for a local place to eat. Settled for some homemade biscuits and gravy at the Butcher Block Cafe. I'll be down again next week and the Buckhorn will be on my radar. Thanks for sharing.

I remember Foster's having a real variety way back in the 50's, must be more there now.
Another thing I remember in my long ago travels was a stuffed white bull elk, but to where it is/was is gone from my noodle, anyone know?
