Down to my last box of Nosier 130 gr partitions for my wife's 270, I am going to try some 140 gr accubonds with H4831sc as it was super accurate with the 130 gr partition at a near max load, anyone got any experience with the 140 accubond on elk? The 130 partitions worked great for cows in the bottom pasture at 150-200 yards, but always waiting for a perfect broadside, probably could have used anything.

The ballistic tip 130 made a mess of the off shoulder on one slightly angled so I went back to the partition. All i had left was a box of 1950’s 160 partitions and did not want to use those, too much nostalgia as they were the first Nosler bullets i ever loaded. I figured they would be the same as the Sirroco in my 280AI.

You're in luck, perfect timing . SPS have some wall banger premium 270 2nd's bullets available, right now! 140's -150's. You'll regret not taking advantage while they're available......

Thanks!! I just ordered the 131 ETip and the 140 Accubond to work up some loads, I know nothing about the ETip but was feeling in an experimental mood.

When my wife had a moose tag in 2011 I talked to the Nosler rep when he was at sportsman’s warehouse. I asked him if she should use partitions or accubonds with the .270. He said accubonds without a doubt. They worked great.

I shot a mule deer buck that had a body of a bull elk with .270 130gr Partition. I was on a cliff 200+ yds above him. He would not turn broadside so I put it on his white patch on his neck with the angle would drive it into his heart. Touched it off and the buck nosedived off of a small cliff. The bullet broke his spine took out his heart and came out just under the diaphragm. Accurate and deadly on animals!

I've shot the 130 grain partition in my 270 for 30 years. Love it. But if I were to switch I'd go to a Hammer Hunter

I was out elk hunting earlier this week and shot a coyote with a factory .270 140 grain Accubond. Below is the exit wound from a quartering towards shot that entered just behind the left shoulder. I’d say it’s a bit overkill for coyotes.

I usually hang those from the fence to let the others know what happens when they get too close to my barn cats! Get the same exit holes with my 556 ackley and 55 gr nosler ballistic tips!

140gr ABs are great bullets in the 270. I believe you can buy 130 ABs too although I don't shoot them.
Finding components is a PITA

Just got some 131 gr Etip anyone have experience with loads/powders? My normal load is Jack O load of 61 4831. Have some 6.5 win stabil and 7977 to try.

140gr Accubond works great. I use Norma MRP. At a little over 3000FPS. But trying to switch to RL23. RL26 will give the highest velocity.
