Colorado to Go Green

Is the governor leading by example? Small all electric/solar no gas home? Rides a bike to state meetings and business dealings? Championing new nuclear power plants? Limiting his families water consumption? Building new hydroelectric damns? Politicians talk a big deal but rarely live their proposals.

Any vehicle can break down, but Colorado sure has some spots that you’d hate to run out of battery juice at. I’d love to have a stealth truck, but also want to make it back to town, eventually.
I remember when I first saw those Tesla chargers out in Salida, guess Elon was pretty forward thinking. I do wonder where those chargers get their supply from.

There’s an effort to recall polis I would encourage people to sign the petition.

Sure, he is...I mean...he wouldn't be pulling the wool over our eyes on that, would he? When your net worth is over $400 million, you should be able to easily afford all the "green" stuff, right?

Why? I'm conservative leaning, and not happy with his covid policies, but what warrants a recall? Why is it anytime someone gets elected these days, its all the rage to recall or impeach them as soon as they make a policy that gets someone's panties in a bunch? He won, let him run his term and hope he does a good job.

The government or I should say the goverments lobbisted beenvpicking winners and losers way before green energy...

Just putting it out there for folks that don’t like him or his policies. Thanks for the concern.

My bad, just have misread your original post, thought you were encouraging people to sign it, silly me. I was hoping to hear which of his policies you thought were worthy of recall, looking for enlightenment i suppose you could say.

I’ll leave it right there not here to argue. Thanks

Gunnery Sargeant Highway would be so disappointed in you

Seriously though, I was honestly curious as to what you believe he's done wrong, wasn't looking for an argument, though my tone was a lil shitty. My apologies for that

You are correct, the emissions for energy use can be worse for electric cars that internal combustion, to a point. The vehicle is dictated by the electricity source, but generally these vehicles are more efficient on the energy they consume and many times your grid is cleaner than a gas burning internal combustion engine (ICE). You also have to remember there is a lot of energy lost from an ICE while it is operating, idling at stops, waste heat coming out the tail pipe, etc.

Part of the problem with all this is there is so much push from special interest groups who's main concern is their shareholders. I feel that nuclear is part of the solution. Granted it requires mining but the energy derived is far better, cleaner, safer than using fracking. It is a good solution to the off days of solar and wind energy generation. Additionally, the use of solar where it matters is a part of the solution. Ever look down at all those warehouses, factories and rooftops when you are flying above a city. That is a lot of square feet that could be generating electricity when the sun shines. Small scale reactors placed strategically throughout the grid will deal with demand peaks and non-production periods of time.

Don't get me started on plastics - that is another issue in this whole fossil fuel bucket that no one is looking to resolve. It is cheaper to make new plastic that to use that which is already been used, there is no financial motivation for organizations to look to replace virgin plastics with post-consumer waste plastic.

I agree with establishing a path towards emissions - we need to establish something to hold us accountable.
I'm in the nuclear energy camp as well. We wouldn't even need to mine if we can get thorium reactors fully developed, certain thorium reactors can actually run on nuclear waste, reducing it to a much safer waste with a significantly shorter half life. We sure have plenty of nuke waste to burn. Thorium is also a waste product in a lot of mining operations. There are a couple very interesting Tedx talks on thorium power.

He's killing the small businesses and restaurants with some of his "mandates"(his capacity orders make no sense). He won't answer direct questions about removing those mandates and pussyfoots around with vague statistics that have shallow context. He want's to give CO's vote away. His appointment of Kessler is a slap in the face to rural CO's way of life.

Do I need to keep going?

I don't do recall's either unless there is something egregious going on, we're just gonna have to vote him out(not likely).

I definitely agree with you on the damage being done to businesses, enough is enough.
