Well it finally happen like it does on tv..Sunday killed my first turkey and I did it with my first gun (which also killed my first 5 deer over 20 years ago) an old Mossberg 95 ka bolt action my Dad gave when I was 12. Been getting after it pretty hard for the last 6+ years only to come away empty handed. My wife was with me and a couple good friends which made it even sweeter..plus my wife managed to get some amateur video of it all. I still have a tag plus my daughter too so I hope the rest of the season goes something like this!

hey, good job on your first bird.I liked the footage, nothing like a long beard to get someones heart rate up.I always laugh when people say "don't bat an eye or the turkey will be gone",...have yet to see one run faster than 300 f.p.s..,....your bird figured something was up at the last second, but it was WAY too late.

Congrats. That first bird is the hardest. . .well. . .they are all pretty hard!! lol Super cool that your wife was there with you too!

He probably figured out when he came around the corner that his friends he had been catching glimpses of actually had llittle trees for feet! The ground was frozen so the decoy stakes wouldn't go into the ground so I improvised:D
