I was in Connecticut for the 4th and got to fish the Atlantic for the first time. All I can say is that it's going to be hard to come back and fish for stripers here in California because they are way bigger and way hungrier out east. We were using live bunker ranging from 10-15" as bait. It was a great experience to get to catch our baiteam first. I paired up the fish with some lobster and clams with a "custom" wood fired oven that I made with some bricks laying get around.

Today I hit the waters of the pacific in search of king salmon and we crushed it...well my wife did. 13 hook ups, 13 fish landed for 6 people (one shaker, limit is 2pp), but my wife was responsible for 8 of them. She was on fire. Fired up the big Green egg when we got home for salmon carcass burgers and salmon cheeks. I even matched my "fish bra" pic from the east coast (zero is the amount of shame I have).

It's been fun contrasting these two different fishing experiences and getting to explore two different seas. 20160720_075736.jpgIMG_20160720_123248.jpgIMG_20160720_194108.jpgFB_IMG_1469070533162.jpgIMG_20160720_080204.jpgIMG_20160707_124000.jpgIMG_20160706_203033.jpgIMG_20160703_191135.jpg

Looks like some good times and great eating.

Very well done! I enjoy ocean fishing, but the last out I got seasick. That takes a bit 'O the fun out of it. Doubling up on dramamine makes one quite sleepy...
