I drew a limited draw tag in CO and I was lucky enough to win a CVA Optima V2 50cal muzzleloader this fall. Should I sell it and upgrade to a Accura or just keep it? What do you guys think?

Keep it. With open sights & no sabots in CO...the shots will be at reasonable ranges. I have a $119 "Walmart special" muzzleloader that I have fine-tuned to shoot 3" groups at 100 yds w open sights & lead conicals. I strongly recommend "No Excuses" muzzleloader bullets. Call him & he will custom pour bullets for your specific gun. Prices are way cheaper than a lot of name-brand bullets & he stands behind his bullets. The other bullet I would try shooting if the No Excuses didn't shoot so good in my gun are THOR all-copper bullets. If your gonna shoot lead conicals, keep your powder charges modest, less than 100 grs. They shoot better slower. If your gonna shoot the Thors, more might be better. But each gun has a favorite charge. I spent 15+ hrs at the range trying diff bullets, powders & charges. It was worth every hr when u find that sweet setup for your blackpowder gun.

For my Colorado muzzleloader rifle,I shoot a CVA Wolf with 348 grain Powerbelts and 90 grains of FFF Triple 777,but am going to try some of the Black Horn stuff this summer.

There is no reason to trade a good gun that you won for another one. The Optima has a good rep, as do most CVAs.

You might try Alliant Black if you can find it. I have been very impressed with it. It ignites well and produces great accuracy in my old cheapo Thompson Thunderhawk.
