"A career CIA officer claims in a new book that America is losing the war on terror, in part because of the invasion of Iraq, which, he says, distracted the United States from the war against terrorism and further fueled al-Qaida’s struggle against the United States. The author, who writes as “Anonymous,” is a 22-year veteran of the CIA and still works for the intelligence agency, which allowed him to publish the book after reviewing it for classified information......"

One of the hopes is that the long time secular Iraq can help put human issues first, rather than Islamic religious ones. Then, the people there will, some day, overcome the radicals in their religion. Now, that they are free of Saddam, who really developed use of terrorism in Iraq, that contains holy sites, they have a chance of fighting the radicals themselves, especially since the training grounds for bin Laden muhajideen are not functioning in Afghanistan.

The Islamic religion says non muslims are not supposed to be anywhere in their territory, I think. What does this Anonymous say is the "must do" for us, anything?

I agree with this assessment; however, where is the front? I think the strategy of introducing democracy in the heart of the Muslim community is the proper approach. The fanatics won't give up their efforts until the "Muslim at large" can see with their own eyes what democracy is, and how it works. What we have here is nothing more than organized crime families grabbing for a share of the limited power and wealth available. Their terrorist tactics aren't designed to frighten Americans; rather, the Muslim communities who see the big bad Al Qaeda assholes taking on Great Big America. If we walk it works and we all lose.
