Chuck has another...

I've grown to like Mr. Adams more and more over the years. When I was young I was a bit put off by someone who just shot "trophy" animals while I was just trying to fill the freezer. The more I've read his writing the more I appreciate his ability and passion.

I have the same feelings.

He’s on a whole different level than everyone else. Definitely one of the best of all time.

It always blows my mind when people have multiple world records. If you were to actively seek to get a world record with that being your sole purpose in hunting you still would most likely die a failure, never even having even seen one. Not for lack of trying, but for the scarcity of world record animals. Most people just luck into a world record when they get one, but to repeatedly accomplish this over the years across multiple species is truly unparalleled. And my favorite part is he does it without having to use every latest gadget, gizmo, state of the art clothing etc! Definitely the GOAT!

Thanks for posting this. I’ve always admired Chuck and his writing. The man dedicated his life to hunting.

I always figured those breaks bulls were on private, but I never heard confirmation on that. If I remember correctly, he had at least 2 that were over 400”.

I talked to him in a cafe years ago and that short conversation helped me start to fill tags. Like, many years ago.
" Play the wind, use all your senses". He could care less I was not a bow hunter.
