Agents raiding a house in Lake County, Fla., in connection with a drug investigation discovered a booby trap system that included a rigged shotgun pointed at the front door, according to Local 6 News.

Authorities arrested four people Friday at two homes in Lake County as part of a monthlong investigation by the Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

The homes were suspected of being part of a major methamphetamine drug ring.

At one of the homes, agents discovered a gun pointed at the front door set to fire when someone entered.

"There was a shotgun rigged in the ceiling with a pulley system and strings attached to the door that when opened, the shotgun blast was made to go off and strike someone in the upper body," Lake County sheriff's spokesman Todd Luce said. "Fortunately, the suspect observed them (agents) coming to the property on their surveillance system and came outside."

Agents confiscated more than 20 guns, illegal drugs and about $10,000 in cash during the raid Friday.

Authorities arrested James Kemp, Rodney Kemp, Stephen Baker and Nicole Deaver on a number of felony charges, Local 6 News reported.

More arrests are possible in connection with the suspected drug operation.
