Cavity in Elk Irory

My Tule Elk was in an area with a lot of High Silica, Salt Desert plants. I figured that the grit wore through the enamel. Only have seen a few like it...

If you look at the grass it had a coating of White Gritty Salty dust.

You guys seriously....... i thought everyone was aware of the G&F tranq’ing the elk and doing testing.

I haven't seen a cavity that I can remember, but these were the teeth off a bull a shot way too many years ago. The ivory was worn flat to the gums.

A 2x4 block and a hammer.one swift blow and bingo they're out........ shoulda been a dentist.

You carry that stuff in the woods?

A rock and stick for me, that's how the old school Vikings did it...but same dentistry technique.

HAHAHAHA. Ah, my 2nd favorite desert, topped with some vanilla ice cream. #1 homemade caramel cake.

Looked through these...didn't see any in need of a dentist.

That is an insane amount of ivories. I would have to be popping them out of road kill to accumulate that many in my life. There isn’t enough enough hit on the roads in Pennsylvania to help me get a total like that though. That’s very cool though. Nice work.
