Had a good hunt yesterday on roosters in cattails.
I think the rain overnight helped as close flushes at sunrise with the lab working the edge of cattails.
I silently position myself way in front of the lab crashing through cattails.
Rain and cloudy days seem to work best for us.rooster1.jpgrooster2.jpgrooster3.JPG

As the owner of two GSP, a large cattail slough always makes me think a lab would be beneficial. Nice looking dog.

I will start hunting cattails here before long. I like to wait for a good snow as that pushes the birds into the them. This year our cattails are so stinkin' high that it may cause some problems. I stepped into one a few weeks ago that was 2 feet over my head!

On a side note, pounding cattails is one of the best workouts you can get without even realizing you are working out. Win-win.
