Well..... I know people who do not like Cats in thier yard do shoot them. I will be honest and say I am not a cat person, and I know where we live our neighbors will shoot animals in thier yard. I know it sounds Cruel but I don't care if the guy shoots cats in his yard and there should not have to be a permit for it ( that is so Ridiculous). If I had a Cat I did not want shot I would have it in my house except to potty... That is what my parents cats have always done. They were indoor cats but would want out to potty then come back in...

There are no leash laws for cats in this state (MT). I personally can't stand cats as they make a mess of my garden and any tilled soil. I've tried sprays, pepper, moth balls, etc and nothing keeps the damn things away. On the other hand, I know cats prowl and it is natural for them to do so. As much as I would like to shoot them, I won't because it is against the law. I would much rather people take care of their cats and get fined for not doing so.

I agree people should take care of their cats when I get home from work I will have cats sitting on the top of my truck and it really ticks me off cant shoot a gun in the city limits put paintballs are not Illegal. If I leave my window down in the summer they will get in the cab kind of rediculous I think we need to be able to control them somehow.

My front porch reeks of tomcat urine. All I can do is hit with whatever I have in my hand to throw at them, or every once in a while, I get the drop on one with a high pressure nozzle on the hose...

Cali- had the same problem...also with the neighbors mutt (and I'm a dog man myself) makring my tires every freakin' day. Wyo has the right idea though as I used my old tree marker (very old fashioned paint ball gun) to color a few of them up. Taught both the animal and the owner a lesson and easily cleaned off my property with the pressure washer.

In my neighborhood they're called targets. Damn dogs got in last night and killed my chickens again. There are a few dogs in my hood that are about to get "marked".

errrrr There was this fella I once knew who actually used cats in a cage to bait coyotes..... At that time I wondered if it was legal.

MattK I hope when you say it's illegal to shoot cats you mean that it's illegal to use a firearm in city limits. Killing house cats is perfectly legal in Montana.

For those that have a tom spraying around the house, an electric fence wire hooked up just in front of where the feline spray's, seems to work wonders. I did this when I lived in Wa. In the middle of the night, you will hear the offending critter getting his peepee whacked when he is doing his dirty little deed...
