Well, I finally got some details and to make it easier to find, just thought I would start a new thread on it.

Lucy's light and Cookies for Cancer are putting on the Dodgeball Tourney on April 13 and it will start at 9 am at the Belgrade Event Center.

It will be $250 per team for entry and there will be 6-10 players per team. Each team MUST have at least one female starting each game. Good time to get that significant other (more significant in most cases:)) involved!

I'd be willing to bet that we could drum up a couple teams of hunt talkers for that day to have some fun supporting a great cause.

They are looking to get 64 teams entered for the tourney. I was going to be out of town that weekend on my big horn hunt trip of the year but I've decided to skip it.....gonna play some dodgeball.

As you can see, if you want to play, it won't be expensive, literally $25/person will get you in. Many of you as we have seen have been impacted one way or another by this stupid disease so anyone who wants to come out and play dodgeball to help support and fight for young kids like Lucy that are looking at 30% or worse odds for survival, it will be well worth your time!

Fin sounds like he is in for buying some Shirts for at least one team, greatly appreciated. If anyone and/or spouse is interested in signing up to play, please just post here and I'll start trying to keep track. Would be real neat if we could throw in a few teams.

Once I see how many people are interested, I will start figuring out and signing up some teams.

To get the ball Rolling:

Critter and mrs critter will be the first two on OYOA 1! .....Who else is in??
Lawnboy is in for Waterboy since surgery has prevented him from throwing a ball;)

In order to get pumped for the event.....

Someone please post up some utube dodgeball clips!

Adult Dodgeball is a kick in the pants. We did a tournament at our company Christmas party a few years back and it was WAY more fun than any of us expected. Topped off that tourney by catching a ball off my face for the championship.

Might have to dust off my sweat bands and protective cup and get in on some of this action. I will have to check my schedule and see if I can make it.

I would like to volunteer myself and my wife for the OYOA team. Let me know where to send the entry fee and I'll get it in the mail ASAP. That is if we made the cut....Thanks!

Don't you have some Leupold sales meetings in Bozeman that day???;)

By the way, hope Mike is doing ok!

You're looking at a post from the two time University of Idaho Intramural dodgeball tournament champion!!! Dang I wish I was home in Bo-town for this one. What a great cause, thanks for your support Critter, hopefully you can put together a HuntTalk team or three.

A little history of how Lucy's Light was started here.....a message from Lucy's mom. A story that would make anyone want to play a little dodgeball to help out;)

In March of 2009, our world was turned upside down when our daughter, Lucy Rose, was diagnosed with High Risk Neuroblastoma at age 3. Her tumor was found during a routine well-child check. Since then, she has endured 2 surgeries, 6 cycles of chemotherapy, 14 rounds of radiation, 6 months of cis-retinoic acid, 14 cycles of 3f8 antibody and multiple blood transfusions, hospitalizations and medical tests. Today, Lucy is 7 years old and enjoying life as a first grader. She has been NED (no evidence of disease) since her tumor was removed, and we hope and pray that she remains NED for the rest of her life. Research is why Lucy is alive and well today, but more research is needed. We need research for those children whose cancer is not responding to the treatment that is out there, in honor of all those beautiful children who earned their angel wings because treatments were not enough and for all the children who have fought and are still in the fight. Pediatric cancer research receives the least amount of federal funding of any other cancer. Because of this, our family is starting a local organization, “Lucy’s Light,” to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research. The funds raised will be given to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer (www.cookiesforkidscancer.com). We need to band together for our children. Their futures depend on it.

Dang spitz, I was going to be recruiting some "professionals" to take this thing.......too bad you weren't closer:)

I will gladly play if I can get on someone's team. I'll pay to play, just need to get on someone's team for this.

I looked into it; not enough money in the big leagues of dodgeball to get my attention. Plus, apparently the University of Idaho's intramural championship isn't quite the preferred pedigree for some reason.

If you see Lucy, give her a high five for me.

Anyone who wants to play just needs to mention it here and as time gets closer, I'll let everyone know on this thread the teams .......you can plan on being on a team. Thanks MT Muley

You get a team matt and magnum and I will join you. we were two champions from the superior version in '05
(We have both put on some lb's since then though.)

You guys could bet on whether I throw out my shoulder or pull a hamstring first.

My sponsor won't allow me to compete in semi pro leagues so I just might have to run water bottles and fruit snacks to the team. 3 shoulder surgeries have me a bit nervous to try and put a welt on some dudes backend with a ball.

Sounds like a blast. Oh back in the day........
