That back in the 70s and 80s the "Itzaball" footballs were far superior to Nerf footballs. There can be no serious debate.

Not a football - a dart.
It was a weird super spongy neoprene like rubber inflatable ball. Stayed soft when wet and cold (both not true of Nerf) which was important in ND.View attachment 312576
The turbo made a kid feel like he could sling like Elway. WTH is an Itza? Must have been a bit before my time.
My brother had one when we were kids. A few years ago, I remember him looking up some other discontinued Nerf ball and it was going for stupid money. I think it was the one that whistled or something.
Could be worse, could have been socks. “Can we all agree crew height socks are the best!”When I was a kid, the overwhelming sadness & disappointment during Christmases when people would give me sportsballs as gifts is the exact same feeling as I have when I open this thread.
I agree the spiral nerf was the best nerf.I never had one of those. I can still remember being so excited to get a nerf spiral football for Christmas as a 10 year old. I was Jerry rice and Chris carter in the backyard with that thing until I wore it out.

But as a kid. I never wanted stuff for Christmas my parents had to buy for me anyway.Socks have utilitarian value. I can use socks.
Especially wool socks, like the 14 pair I got 3 Christmas' ago from the same person.
Electric football was the best. When my brothers electric football game shit the bed a day after Christmas, that's when we learned Santa wasn't real.Could be worse, could have been socks. “Can we all agree crew height socks are the best!”

Frozen soaked sponge to bootThat was my favorite thing about a nerf football.
Nothing like drilling someone in the chest with a spiraling soaked sponge.
