CA DFW Meeting 04/21

Hey all, CA DFW is having their first in person meeting in a few years on April 21st and were organizing some folks to head to Monterey to attend the meeting to show our support for bear hunting and to squash the HSUS's petition to ban bear hunting in CA. If you're not able to make it, please try to make the zoom for the public comment portion of the meeting on item 30 to put your two cents in to support hunting in our state. Every person's voice matters more than they think. We had a great showing at the last zoom and plan to do even better at this one. Make your voices heard! Good luck, we lost our spring bear hunt here in WA. They claim they'll revisit it, but two years in a row now it has been cancelled.

The department presentation zinged that first HSUS lady. Doesn't sound like they actually tried to get any data beyond the published harvest numbers.

HSUS did not seem to have good representation, they saw 1 year of "bad" data and tried to get this pushed through.

He did a good job. The commission has asked good questions as well.

Vote was 4-0 to deny the petition. Great work everyone.

Great work by all the hunters who spoke today either in person, via zoom or by signing a petition. The CA Commission really supports its hunters!
