Took this big hog in a wallow in East TX. Estimated weight to be 300-350# on the hoof. One above the left eye and one and done. Smaller pig taken next evening. One for the freezer.
Both taken with my 260AI, 120 grain Nosler BT.

Good shooting...a late bud of mine used to put a 6mm right behind the ear regularly. He was a hell of a good shot.

Headed to east Texas now with a stop in Memphis. Be tickled to run across some like that. Brought the Hoyt and .325 wsm.

I have read many, many, very many posts from hunters that ask questions regarding what rifle for this hunt, what rifle for this animal etc, etc. To the many I whole heartedly recommend a rifle that one is comfortable with. A rifle that one has confidence in. A rifle that is accurate to the range one is competent with. Then, practice, practice and practice more. My 260 AI sports but one hand load, 120 grain Nosler BT, 47 gr. of H4350 with a WLR primer. I do not deviate from this load. My Remington 700 mountain rifle has been to Africa, New Zealand and on many western hunts. It has accounted for many animals dead. Put the bullet in the right spot and it is one and done.
I was advised that my 260AI was not adequate for feral hogs. Look at the pictures. I have a very different opinion. Practice, practice and practice more from all of the shooting positions. Get to know the rifle that you have confidence. MTG

Did they let you drive the tractor?

Good shooting!

Looks fun to get out of the cold weather and get some sun.
