I enjoy travelling up northern Australia hunting buffalo and boars and try to do so at every opportunity. This encounter with a big mature bull on one trip wasn't exactly what we wanted to see. He had nice horns and was a fine trophy but he had been shot a couple of weeks ago and simply had his backstraps removed and everything else left behind! Typical of out in Anhemland, (the aboriginal controlled portion of the Northern Territory) this is what happens on a regular basis. I have been hunting in remote communities and they have asked me to shoot a young buff for meat and i do so and when it is on the ground, they remove the back leg and/or backstrap that is convenient to get to and ask to me to shoot another one to get more meat for the family members when a little sweat and effort would have rolled the animal over and the rest of the good portion of the meat obtained.
Such vast differences with our lack of game management in the South Pacific with many of the species compared to the regulated harvesting in your country.
And there is some big hogs out in Arnhemland and we shoot a few.
