My hunting buddy informed me today, my bear hunt with him next month will be the last Alaska hunt we do together for a few years. He is PCSing in early fall and will not return for a few years...basically retirement time. I'm pursuing a Brooks Range hunt this August for sheep. I have the area all planned out and am soliciting a partner at this point. Expect the taxi to to cost about $2600 per person. I would prefer to hunt with someone who has a history here at HT...any takers?

Should add the area is prime for grizz and bou if we hit the migration just right.

One would think WDH would be prime for this, but he probably wouldn't want to get that far away from Anchorage and dancing.

Sounds like an awesome hunt, but I've already got too many sheep on the wall... :D

Actually, I'm running low on vacation after crab fishing for 2 weeks, 10 days in Spain, and 4 different groups of friends and family visiting this summer/fall. I do really need to do that hunt in the next few years though, hope you find someone and have a great hunt.

Are you looking for a sherpa partner or someone to actually hunt?

If hunting, can we get the legalities of you adopting me as your brother or son taken care of by August?

Either or...but I think we could pull it off a little easier if I called you gramps.

Pm sent, the only thing I have going for me here at HT is Dinks younger brother. That and I like long walks in the Brooks. :D

I would say the best thing you got going for you is you ability to sew up pretty sweat looking tarps/tent flys.

Well since I didnt meet the criteria of a history here at HT I felt it necessary to announce im not a complete unknown around here, thats all I had.

Strong Back
Weak Mind
Sewing

My top three attributes.

Agh. Nov-March are probably my favorite time of year to live in AK.

Summer is least favorite. Too many people.

Welcome to the site lil dink.

Oops, im not Dinks lil brother, just know him. Have to agree though, Nov-Mar is good stuff.

AKDrifter-throw up your sheep blog thingy from last year. It was a good read.

Thanks, I included it in the pm, maybe I'll share it in another thread for everyone else.
