What kind of box calls do you guys use? I'm in the market for a decent one that won't break the bank, was considering a lynch call. Are there any other good fair priced ones out there?

Skimer, about 25 years ago I bought H.S. Strut Field Champion Natural and I've calls a lot of birds with it.

2 years ago I was hunting in the Low Country Swamps with a buddy. He called this bird from across the river. When we heard him hit the back he said to me : Give that Yankee caller a shot. I hit the Strut and as the bird was coming over the bank he started gobbling . Strut had him fired up. Cheep call but it's been a killer. Same year I called 3 Toms from 400 yards on a windy day. Took them 45 minutes to get to me and at 15 yards drop the one who gobbles back at the Strut from 400 yds.

You can't go wrong with either of the two mentioned. I do not use them but I do own the HS .and a few others.......good luck this season......

Not sure , but I would just buy some mouth calls and practice daily with them. Can't beat them. You can do it, even if you think it sounds like shit. I have all sorts of calls but I like to travel light.

I have and use an old Lynch World Champion model that was made in 1958. It's been a good one. I even had to glue a piece of the box back together several years ago, and it didn't make any difference in the sound. I also use HS Struts' diaphragm calls, an HS Strut slate call, and just purchased one of the new Flextone "Thunder Chicken" calls. I keep going back to the old Lynch every time I hunt 'em, which has been 5 times since the season opened on March 15th.

If hens were legal, I'd already have my 5 bird limit.:(
