I spent a weekend hunting here , it's very off the beaten path. And just about all marsh. Some pic's of where I hunted and a drive through the refuge. The roads flood often when the high tide is extream and it's not good to drive the 2 roads leading out of the area. LOL

Sure is an interesting place to hunt. The dang skeeters are brutal though.

Did you see any sika?

That salt marsh with it's pine hammocks and twisty little creeks is an ecosystem unto itself. A nursery for so many species of ocean life, oyster beds, endless interesting things to see. Ever do any rail hunting there?

Just hunt Sika's and turkey. I want to tale my Sporty down for a weekend of riding in the spring. I have been hunting down there for 20 years and never seen the entire area. I thought it would ne a great place to ride. That's if the skeeters don't carry me away.

I dont hunt in that particular area but I hunt close by and enjoy the views. Sitka deer are truely unique and bugle just like elk.

md as you know it can be very dangerous hunting Black Water by yourself. All the hidden logs under the water and nutria holes. I would hunt down there more often with a partner , if you ever need a 2nd let me know.
