I had been researching a couple of Wyoming deer units for the past few years. I finally found someone who had drawn the unit I was particularly interested in and after hearing his story, my friend Mark and I decided to go all in with our max points. Low and behold, we drew the tag. This is a migration hunt and if all the stars line up and the high country gets an early, heavy snow and/or has a dry summer, the big bucks head out early and end up in the unit during the last week of season. Unfortunately for us, no early snows came and the big bucks were just starting to trickle into the unit during the last week of season. With that said, this hunt will probably go down as the funnest ever in my book. We were seeing 20-50 bucks/day, just not many mature bucks. A lack of hunters, an abundance of deer, a comfortable wall tent and two best buddies hunting together just can't be beat. In the end we both shot good, mature bucks. I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story!
