The rifle I have now is pretty old and inaccurate, will probably never use it again. What’s wrong with the 308? I understand wanting new rifles so I’d say keep the 308 and get a 7Rem Mag.

Or if you are a recoil wimp you can downgrade to a 416 Rigby for the small ones.500 Nitro, you really stop a charging prairie dog in its tracks.

Does the 500 Nitro have a RUM variant? I think a 500 Nitro RUM would be the new minimum for MN whitetail at 30 yards out of a tree stand. Those hundreds of thousands of dead deer "supposedly killed by a 30-30" over the last 80 years must be more fake news.I would only use that for chipmunks, way too much risk when they charge by not going with enough gun.
I think we all know where he’s at.Mt Muley, where are you?
I covered his 6 with the 300 RUM.Mt Muley, where are you?
We need to know what ya already haveI may be getting a new gun and was trying to decide what cal. To get.
In your opinion which is better for overall hunting (big game).
A 300 win mag. Or .308.
Or any other calibers you recommend?
