I am thinking about putting a new trigger in my savage 110 and wondered if you all had any recommendations and triggers you like. Looking for improvement over the bladed accutrigger.

Really limited options. Essentially just the Timney and 2 offerings from Rifle Basix.

The Timney and Rifle Basix SAV-1 are the same design. The Timney has a bit better finish. I have the Rifle Basix SAV-1 and I’m very happy with it. I’ve got it set at about 1.5 pounds, zero creep, no slam fires.

I tried the Rifle Basix SAV-2 and couldn’t eliminate creep without it slam firing. I messed around with it a while then took it out and put the SAV-1 back on the rifle.

Second the Rifle Basix Sav-1. I have an older Savage 111 that I installed the Sav-1 on. Very functional with no creep.

Okay sounds good. I knew about the Timney but never heard of the Basix. does anyone have a comparison between the Timney and Sav-1?

They’re nearly identical. The overall finish is a bit better on the Timney. As long as the sear surface and the pivot pin surface are smooth and true, the rest doesn’t really matter. I’ve held the Timney but never fired it, but since they’re the same design, I don’t see how the Timney would be worth the extra money.
