Need to upgrade for tax season. Just documents, no photos. Longtime HP user, thinking Canon for a change. Haven't shopped in 5 years. Print less than 100 pp/year. I hate buying expensive ink.

I'd look into one of the Canon EcoTank printer/scanners. Multiple models with different features to choose from. Maybe the ET-2400 fits the bill for you.

We bought an Epson at Costco last year. It has the refillable ink tanks. We’ve been very happy with it. Prior to that we had an inkjet and hated it. It was 50 bucks every few months to replace a cartridge.

Go laser if you are only printing 100 pages per year. No worries about ink cartridges drying up on you. There are quite a few good options. I’d swing into an office supply store and see if they have anything on sale that fits your needs.

I use a Brother with a toner cartridge. Been on the same cartridge since I bought it about a year and a half ago. Probably would have bought 4 sets of ink for the HP it replaced.

Between the cost of the machine, ink refills, and how rarely I print anything out, I just go to the local print shop and have them print it out. Short drive, under an hour, much easier. YMMV.

I use a Brother also, don't know the model # as it's on loan to a friend who has a heavy tax load and needed to use my box. I worked in that industry for 31 years so I know a good unit when I see/use it.
