I saw these Beretta jackets on sale and couldn't lay off. After having them for a few weeks, hunting and walking the dog in temps down to 9 degrees, I can tell you they are fantastic for the price. The softshell with the blaze orange meets most state requirements for sq. in. or coverage, and it is absolutely wind proof. It's heavier than most softshells, but that works pretty well for me, especially in the lower temps. I put my down vest or down puffy jacket under it and have been able to sit for over 2.5 hours without moving in single digit temps. It is a little more noisy than most softshells I've had, but not bad at all really. I don't hesitate to wear it hunting now, when I'm required to have orange on.
The other coat I bought is a Tarandus down coat with a hood. It looks great and is very warm. Not heavy at all either. Word to the wise, this is a left zip (euro style) jacket. So keep that in mind. Got mine on clearance for just $80, but I see they have gone back up to the usual $379. Excellent quality. I can recommend these Beretta jackets, especially on clearance.
