You may not have seen them, but they have seen you!! Get the best glass you can afford, be patient and work an area in a grid fashion. We hunt a bunch of sagebrush areas not much for trees and they sometimes lay down in the sage and all you might see is an ear, maybe 1 side of an antler, so after you look for the obvious deer laying there start looking for smaller portions, not looking for the deer just deer parts.
