I have been prepping for a trip to Cody, Wyoming to kill some cow elk. Yesterday, I was notified that my cousin, from Cody, was killed in a hunting accident. He or his partner (don't know which) committed a bad safety error and he paid for it.

A loaded rifle was leaned against a truck and the wind blew it over. He was shot through both legs hitting both femoral arteries.

Not a real good way to start an elk trip. There will be funeral clothes packed along with the cold weather gear.

God does not wait for anybody when the time has come. It sucks, but down the road we go..

Gosh I hate reading about accidents like this. Prayers to you and your family.

My prayers out to you and the family sbhooper. Hunting might be good for the soul about now. mtmuley

Absolutely terrible news. My sympathies to you and his family. Wish words could make it better. Hope you can find some way to honor him while you are out on your hunt.

Oh my, my words can't do anything, but know that all hunters and friends grieve with you and pray that you and all the family get through this as well as possible. As you said, God has a plan, we don't have to understand it, we just need to be sure of our final destination. Wishing you safe travels and fond memories.
