Just got back from a great trip to Luna Peak in Washington. Most of the trip is fairly flat and all of the elevation is in the last 3 miles or so. It was so steep in the one chute that it took everything I had with two trekking poles to climb up there. Lots of loose rock avalanching down. Finally made it to the false summit after climbing a lot of boulders and decided it wasn’t worth the super exposed scramble to the true summit. Most of the trip had very little view but the summit was amazing. Best gear award goes to lidocaine pain cream since I pinched a disk in my back the week before I left. Worst gear award goes to my Salewa shoes having left me with blisters and two toe nails that are black and blue. I think I should have bought the them one size bigger so it may have been my fault.
