It's that time of year. I have a loving and understanding wife who puts up with all kinds of childishness on my part. A cup of cold water while showering or sneaking into the house while she thinks I'm gone have brought some solid screams. There have also been a few pranks that have just about put her over the edge though. For some reason those are also the most memorable to both of us. :D

Anybody have any ideas that will lead to a solid laugh/and or a few tears but that won't have the spouse searching for a divorce attorney?

Can't think of any I would do, but can tell you one I would not do.

DON'T have some unknown teenage kid walk up to the door and introduce himself to your wife as the step-son that she has never met.

Usually cannot say "April Fools" fast enough to prevent ignition and blast off to the outter fringes of marital separation.

Hahahahaha! That is GOLD! Hahaha!

I told my girlfriend (now my wife) that I was intentionally poking holes in the condoms 'cause I wanted a kid. Little did I know she was 3 weeks late! That took a bit of explaining...

Not bad Fin! I might have to wait a few more years but that one is definitely worth keeping handy. Of course I'll have to be certain of my escape plan when I pull it.

Pointer, that one sure took an unexpected turn. I bet the explanation was classic!

Right now the best thing I can think of is a fake rat or mouse and some fishing line. Of course April 1 does last 24 hours so I imagine I can fill the day with several reminders of how childish I am. :)

if you do any of the cooking at your house, knives and ketchup make a good combination.

fake casts are always good for a day or so. if you have a Dr./friends that will co-operate.

Plastic wrap the toilet bowl, honey in the hair brush or dog food in a cereal box all seemed to work great on my parents when I was a kid. Not sure the wife would go for such goofs now though. Especially the honey in the hair brush. Might want to leave the house when that one hits.

Since it's on a Thursday this year, just set your wife's clock ahead about three hours when you leave for work. I'm sure you'll hear about it later. Especially if there are kids that need to get to school.

I think this would be going over the top, but you could put a "Obama 2012" bumper sticker on a buddy's truck. It's all about fiction anyway. John

I put this on a buddies car last year. Best thing is he drove around all day without knowing it was on there. :D

And you lived to tell about it? You have a pretty understanding friend, well more understanding than I would have been! I would have killed you!

I'm still paying for a prank from 30 years ago. I proposed marriage to a girl on that day and she actually said yes.:eek:

I think a prank was played on me.

Doris is still laughing.:W:

Happy Anniversary Nut.;)

If he drove around with it on his trunk all day he might have pretended to not know.... I'm just sayin' .... :D

Here's what I ended up going with . . .

It looked even uglier jumping out from under the sink when my wife threw something away. The scream generated both at initial sight and when it jumped past her feet was enough to make it worth it. Kept me in the safe area of not being a mope but also staying happily married. :D
