Anyone ever fish iceland?

I can’t help answer your question, sorry.

But about 20 years ago, while visiting a friend on the base in Keflavik, we did a charter for a few hours. We caught so many fish it was ridiculous.

My bag on the flight home weighed a ton, filled with frozen fish.

Good luck!

I heard they ice fish for sharks there. That’s pretty sweet.

Hopefully you hammer ‘em! Char would be fun.

A fly fishing programme in the UK just finished, they caught some huge fish (it was all catch and release) and it raised my interest until I saw the prices, I believe it is all private, but I might be wrong.

The way I read it is that all rivers are private, and expensive, and about 35 lakes are open to public fishing with proper licensing.

I've never been, but there was a guy and his wife from the area who drowned fishing in Iceland 2 years ago. His wife slipped in the fast current and he went in after her. Sad story.
