Moral issues is the one thing that holds the republicans back from sweeping many blue states in a land slide. Neither party is what it once was, and with the change in the demographic of voters, the republican party has never bent on the moral issues that hang-up many voters. In most of these cases, no opinion is the best opinion. You don't have to support it, but since we are living in a free country, you shouldn't condone it and use it as a political plea. The current stronghold on moral/religious opinions is killing the republican party and it simply won't work as white males are quickly becoming the minority.
Also, in today's society, the entitlement of many pushes them to the democratic party, because the democrats want to give things away rather than have them earned by the people. Those that think democrats are for the middle class are mistaken, they are more oriented towards the lower class and the poor, hence the Robin hood analogy. I am the middle class and have received no benefit from the democrats, aside from higher taxes.
If anyone thinks the country is better off than four years ago, just reference the extra 6 trillion in debt that we are responsible for. Do you actually understand how many zeros follow the number 6? You don't put out a fire out with gas, and in this case, dumping money into the economy created nothing more than a flash to the fire and a slight, but temporary, bump to the economy. We burned up those trillions in four years and Obama's stimulus package created temporary jobs, but when that money goes away, so do those jobs. Road crews, green-energy, and etc. can not self-support.
I won't even get started on healthcare, it has done nothing but weaken the middle class. I pay more for my healthcare monthly and pay astronomical co-pays and deductibles, this in a matter of only 2 years. That is actually less money I can put into the economy, and more money I have to put into healthcare. While I 100% agree healthcare needs reform, the middle class is paying for it on both ends in the form of higher premiums and tax dollars. We are truly getting double-dipped.
The first thing we need to do is remove party voting and remove the party next to the candidates name. If you can't make an educated decision on your choice, you shouldn't vote. Many veterans preserved the right for us to be allowed to vote, and simply picking a name/party is not patriotic. Making an educated decision on what is best for the country and casting a vote to reflect that is. I don't care who you vote for, if you actually have a reason. I don't have to agree with your reason, but simply saying the democrats are pro-union or the democrats protect women's right's is hogwash. Unions haven't gone away despite many Republican presidents, we Have a National Labor Relations Boards, and ROE vs. Wade will never be overturned by the Supreme Court. Vote on real issues, not ones someone threatened you with.
