Gastro Gnome - Eat Better Wherever

Another poacher a little bit poorer now.

This guy would be a perfect candidate for poaching related Jail Time. A repeat offender bold enough to trespass in order to poach Elk and Deer in people's backyards should get more than fines, however steep they may be. For all we know, 53k could be nothing to this guy. Elk in Evergreen and Conifer are the tame ones that you see in people's driveways and on the Golf Courses. Also, unless there is a shady taxidermist that doesn't require proof of a tag, this guy almost certainly bought a license (says he did in the article) just so he could get his illegal kills mounted. Pathetic.

I’ve never been to a taxidermist that required a tag. In MT it’s requires to be with the meat and you can pickup deadheads here, which obviously don’t require a tag.

Glad they busted the guy and hopefully he sits on the sideline for the next 90
Hunting seasons.

If you truly want deterrence PRISON time has to be involved. Money recovered may help with restoration of resources poached but without the threat of serious, felony level time a lot of these folks are willing to take the chance.

Do these jabronis ever end up even paying? I feel like money is never enough of a deterrent. That level of stupidity needs to hurt more.

They ALWAYS(90% of the time) seem to plea bargain out of the felony charges..........which would in a way help to reduce future chithead occurrences, at least with a firearm.

If they didn't always bargain away the felony's it would be a start(not saying jail time wouldn't either) make em all Duke boys.

Poaching is a crime.Criminals go to Prison.53,000 dollar crime means a long time in prison!Hang Em' High!!! 🔥

I always thought that confiscating gear used in poaching would be pretty painful---losing a truck and your rifle I think would be a deterrent (certainly more painful than losing hunting privileges, which I never understand because it is not like poachers follow rules anyway)
